Dear Wynfield Plantation:
I am pleased to send you a copy of Resolution 1171 that was offered to the senate body by Senator Meyer von Bremen and Senator Hooks on my behalf. This resolution recognizes and commends Wynfield Plantation and you, as manager, for being named the 2005 Orvis Endorsed Wingshooting Lodge of the Year.
Wynfield Plantation is traditional southern quail hunting at its very best, and I sincerely appreciate your exemplary leadership and outstanding contributions in making this a first-class hunting experience.
Thank you for providing such a wonderful lodge for our citizens to enjoy and be proud of. Please call upon me if I may ever be of assistance to you.
Sincerely,
Mark Taylor
(Lieutenant Governor, State of Georgia)

Thanks again for another great time. Wish I could get back for one more this year. Maybe I can get one in before time runs out. Just thought I would let you see the note I sent back in with my form to Orvis. Not trying to get Brownie points... just telling the truth. I could have gone on but, I figured they would get the point. Hope all is well. And hope to see you soon. Oh, I'll be looking for my invite next year for the celebrity hunt. I did not notice any celebrity dozer salesmen in the program?????? What's the deal?

Dear Sir,
I would like to take this time to give praise to one of your endorsed outfitters. I have had the privilege to take my clients to Wynfield Plantation for the past six years. Each time I go, which is two to three times a year, I will average a total of six to eight hunters in my group. Some with and some without quail hunting experience and when we complete our two day trip of sporting clays and quail hunting I have had the same results, totally satisfied hunters who are begging me to take them back. I have had several clients who have hunted at other well known plantations that have told me "nothing else holds a candle to this place".
I did not know any of the personnel when I first went to Wynfield. I was going on blind faith. I can now say that we have all become great friends. The staff truly make you feel as though you are family. That means a lot to me as I am taking my clients to Wynfield to help me build lasting relationships with them. The entire staff handles themselves in a professional manner and yet at the same time you feel as though you have lived next door to them your whole life. I will continue to hunt at Wynfield Plantation, I can't stop now I have too many clients that have heard about it and they are standing in line for their trip.
I would also like to say that I know the 2005 WING SHOOTING LODGE OF THE YEAR award means a lot to the staff and it should, it should also make Orvis proud to have them on their team as well. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Kevin W. Burgreen

What a great time! My wife and I entertain a lot of folks in our home and we work real hard at making people comfortable. We enjoy feeding crowds and encouraging guests to relax and make themselves at home. As a person who enjoys being a host, I recognize hospitality when I see it. You have mastered the art. Thank you for making our hunt such an outstanding experience.Lee Thigpen and I hunt in Texas every Fall and we would like to schedule a hunt for our whole crew for the second weekend in February. We would like the same Friday/Saturday hunt and one night stay. If everyone comes, there will be eight of us. We are hoping the guys will want to make it an annual hunt for us. What do you have available?
Thanks again for the hospitality.
Sincerely,
Allen H. Bell
Just wanted to take a second to say thanks for helping me out at your plantation. My dad and I had much fun and I enjoyed trying to hit a quail or two and even missing the “big one”. I hope to make it an annual trip with my dad. Thanks again.
I pray that God would greatly increase you and your business in 2006. Have a blessed day!!
Yours in health,

I hope my letter finds you doing well. I want to thank you for a wonderful weekend at Wynfield Plantation. My guests and I had an outstanding time. From the moment we arrived you made us feel right at home. Everything at your facility is first class. I have hunted at some very nice lodges and yours is second to none. It was an extremely memorable experience, one which I hope to repeat soon. Thank you once again and I look forward to seeing you in the future.
Sincerely,

Gentlemen:
I write to you in supplementation of your Client Report which I have completed with respect to my wife’s and my stay at Wynfield Plantation from January 16 through January 19, 2005. I cannot express in glowing enough terms the extent of our satisfaction with our experience at Wynfield Plantation.
My wife and I have undertaken at least one hunting adventure a year for the past 12 years. We have hunted Saskatchewan, Wyoming, the Dakotas, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Hawaii and Georgia. We belong to the premier upland bird hunting club in Michigan, The Huntsman Hunt Club, Inc. We train our own upland dogs (Brittanys), which have won or placed highly in several gun dog challenges, including the Michigan United Conservation Clubs Gundog of the Year run. We have conducted AKC hunt tests for pointing breeds and been involved in field trials conducted by the Michigan Brittany Club. We are very familiar with hunting accommodations of all types and with upland dog work of all calibers.
Wynfield Plantation was recommended to us by hunting companions who visited Wynfield Plantation in January 2004. Based upon their rave reports, we arrived with high expectations. The entire crew surpassed all of our expectations.
The dog work was fantastic. And while the individual dogs were solid (i.e., steady to wing and/or shot, biddable, good noses, well mannered and quick to honor), I was even more impressed by our guide and handler, and the manner in which he braced the dogs to complement their respective skills and personalities. This was the first upland hunting that I had done without my own dogs in some time. I was delighted to find that our guide, Randy Hickman, held his four legged charges to the same high standards to which I hold my own.
Being very involved with dog training as well as hunting at my own club, and being involved in growing food plots for whitetail deer, turkeys and pheasants on my own hunting property, I know how difficult it can be to maintain upland cover. The cover at Wynfield Plantation was excellent. I was very impressed with the manner in which the several courses and their constituent covies were maintained. The vegetation provided ample cover for the birds but was not difficult to walk.
While the hunting amenities were first class, what truly sets Wynfield Plantation apart in my mind is the hospitality and “can do” attitude of its staff. No matter what we desired, it was accommodated. I lost track of the number of times I heard “Yes, Mr. Ray, we will make sure that is taken care of”. No request was too onerous. Everything was provided quickly and effortlessly (or at least seemingly so). From special dietary needs, to shooting practice, to a round of sporting clays on short notice, to use of a golf cart to get around the compound, all of our whims and desires were taken care of with a smile and an eager attitude.
Finally, I would be remiss if I did not comment on the lodging and the meals. Our cabin was new and extremely comfortable with all of the amenities (satellite TV, full kitchen, fireplace set to start each evening, plush towels and linens, gun rack and cleaning materials and candies and nuts set out throughout the cabin). The meals were fantastic! From the wine selection to the copious quantities at every meal to the wonderful desserts, to the friendly and courteous staff, all of our needs, desires and wants were taken care of.
And perhaps the final and most telling review I can give: we will be making a trip to Wynfield Plantation a recurring January event next year and each year thereafter as long as we are able. In our opinion, Wynfield Plantation is the place where upland hunting is done right.
Should you have any questions, I will certainly welcome your call.
Very Truly Yours,
Raymond C. McVeigh, P.C.
Can't thank you enough for the wonderful and very relaxing visit to your part of the country. My brother Mike and myself had simply an outstanding time. I left your plantation thoroughly feeling like a member of the family. Please thank Todd Rogers and the entire staff. He is one heck of a great guide! All the best and God Bless.......
